IRC [09:32] <Dossy> grumble
IRC [09:32] <Dossy> windows ip stack crippleware ought to be illegal.
IRC [09:33] <Dossy> or, maybe someone needs to provide an alternative ip stack driver :)
IRC [09:40] <Dossy> argh. time to reboot - i think i hosed windows networking :)
IRC [11:29] <Dossy> ...

IRC [18:02] <bartt> Hmm, I think I just discovered that tDOM can crash AOLserver.
IRC [18:05] <jcdldn> I have been able to get it to do that.
IRC [18:06] <jcdldn> oh, actually I have also gotten it to dump core in plain old tcl.
IRC [18:07] <bartt> Yeah, I've seen several cases.
IRC [18:08] <bartt> node command that conflict with Tcl commands for example kill all but one of the AOLserver threads.
IRC [18:09] <bartt> This last method, really kills all threads.
IRC [18:13] <jcdldn> yeah, there are definitely some issues to address. I wish rolf would release code, the CVS version has a number of improvements and if code was released occasionally it might get people interested in trying to fix things.
IRC [18:47] *** thecodemill|aol joined the chat.
IRC [18:47] * thecodemill|aol is logging
IRC [18:56] <bartt> Aha, tDOM CVS head fixed my parsing problem.
IRC [20:04] *** jader parted the chat.
IRC [20:28] <Dossy> cool :)
IRC [20:29] <Dossy> yeah, polearyuk was saying that tDOM calls Tcl_Panic in some places, intentionally blowing up the server :)
IRC [21:13] <jhavard> isn't there a version of tk that can do cui's?
IRC [21:13] <jhavard> or atleast cdk, or some similar library, or even ncurses for tcl?
IRC [21:28] <Dossy> no
IRC [21:28] <Dossy> tcl ncurses, maybe
IRC [21:28] <Dossy> that'd be really groovy
IRC [21:28] <Dossy> actually, tk-curses would rock
IRC [21:28] <Dossy> CK8.0 Curses Tcl Toolkit: http://www.ch-werner.de/ck/
IRC [21:29] <Dossy> "Starting in late 1995 I ported the Tk toolkit (see www.tcl.tk) to character mode using XPG4 curses. I called this thing CK[48]\.[0-4]. Since then it was used in various projects with Tcl 7.[45] and Tcl 8.[0-4] on UN*X platforms."
IRC [21:29] <Dossy> "Since June 2004 support for Unicode/UTF-8 is provided when Tcl versions greater than 8.0 are used and the curses library has support for wide characters (ncurses 5.3 or better).
IRC [21:29] <Dossy> June 2004! Looks like the guy's still working on it today -- cool!
IRC [21:29] <Dossy> grr, no screenshots.
IRC [21:58] *** tekbasse parted the chat.
