IRC [16:47] <_Q_> Hi :)
IRC [16:47] <_Q_> Could you give me a hand trying to fix some problems with nsoracle 2.7 ?
IRC [16:47] <_Q_> I'm using Debian etch and oracle 10g
IRC [16:48] <_Q_> when I try to compile the nsoracle I got lots of warnings...
IRC [16:49] <_Q_> and when I load the nsoracle.so driver in my config.tcl configuration file I got this error message:
IRC [16:49] <_Q_> [20/May/2007:21:54:19][10731.3083318976][-main-] Notice: modload: loading '/usr/lib/aolserver4/bin/nsdb.so'
IRC [16:49] <_Q_> [20/May/2007:21:54:19][10731.3083318976][-main-] Warning: modload: could not find Ns_DbDriverInit in /usr/lib/aolserver4/bin/nsdb.so
IRC [16:49] <_Q_> [20/May/2007:21:54:19][10731.3083318976][-main-] Error: dbdrv: failed to load driver 'ora8'
IRC [16:49] <_Q_> [20/May/2007:21:54:19][10731.3083318976][-main-] Error: dbinit: no such default pool 'pool1'
IRC [16:51] <_Q_> and then I got :
IRC [16:51] <_Q_> [20/May/2007:21:54:19][10731.3083318976][-main-] Error: Database API: RDBMS type could not be determined for any pool
IRC [16:51] <_Q_> :( couldn't load it
IRC [16:51] <_Q_> if some of you have any idea , I 'll appreciate your help, cheers :)
IRC [17:29] <Dossy> Hi.
IRC [17:30] <Dossy> you need to make sure it's adding -lnsdb in the link step for nsoracle.
IRC [17:30] <Dossy> Which version of the nsoracle code are you using? HEAD from CVS?
IRC [17:36] <_Q_> noup
IRC [17:36] <_Q_> I'm using nsoracle 2.7
IRC [17:36] <_Q_> shall I use another one?
IRC [17:37] <_Q_> for some reason when I compile nsoracle 2.7 I got a lot of warnings .... like these ones:
IRC [17:37] <Dossy> yeah, grab the latest code from CVS.
IRC [17:37] <Dossy> Jim Lynch did some work on the code lately.
IRC [17:38] <_Q_> ahh ok
IRC [17:38] <_Q_> so, I ll do a checkout from the code of nsoracle right now
IRC [17:38] <_Q_> do u know if this new code of nsoracle is compatible with OpenACS ?
IRC [17:39] <_Q_> because I was told that new changes made in nsoracle don't support the toolkit
IRC [17:39] <_Q_> Just in case u know :)
IRC [17:42] <Dossy> wait, seriously?
IRC [17:42] <Dossy> Uh, I'd still give it a try.
IRC [17:43] <_Q_> ok :), checking out the code
IRC [17:51] <Dossy> cool, let me know if you need more help
IRC [17:56] <_Q_> thanks Dossy
IRC [17:56] <_Q_> I'm just compiled again
IRC [17:56] <_Q_> the new check out from CVS
IRC [17:56] <_Q_> I'm getting too many warnings again like these ones:

IRC [17:58] <_Q_> however, it finished ok
IRC [17:58] <_Q_> I got the nsoracle.so
IRC [17:58] <_Q_> let me try if this one works
IRC [18:01] <_Q_> noup , didn't work
IRC [18:01] <_Q_> I'm not sure if it's because the bunch of warnings
IRC [19:00] <Dossy> no, not because of the warnings ...
IRC [19:00] <Dossy> what's the error you get now?
IRC [19:01] <Dossy> i.e., how do you know it's not working?
IRC [19:01] *** _Q_ parted the chat.
IRC [20:43] *** __Q joined the chat.
IRC [20:43] <__Q> Hi Dossy, I made it work once :)
IRC [20:43] <__Q> the new nsoracle from cvs with oracle 10g and Aolserver 4.1.0
IRC [20:44] <__Q> then, I restart everything and now I 'd like to ask you if you know what I missed to do... cuz Aolserver cant' connect to the pool
IRC [20:44] <__Q> :(
IRC [20:45] <Dossy> ?
IRC [20:45] <Dossy> what's the error you get?
IRC [20:45] <__Q> when loading AolServer I got this error in Aol server log
IRC [20:45] <__Q> [21/May/2007:01:44:15][10996.3083679424][-main-] Error: Bootstrap: RDBMS type could not be determined for any pool
IRC [20:46] <__Q> I restarted the listener and the database
IRC [20:46] <__Q> but now It's connecting and I'm getting this error
IRC [20:46] <__Q> aparently nsoracle is working perfectly
IRC [20:47] <__Q> the error is that aolserver can't communicate with oracle
IRC [20:47] <__Q> I can't find the pools
IRC [20:47] <__Q> or something like that
IRC [20:47] <Dossy> this is an OpenACS error.
IRC [20:47] <Dossy> I'd suggest going back to the OpenACS folks and finding out what's up.
IRC [20:48] <__Q> ok , thanks! :)
