IRC [02:04] <cacrus> HI there
IRC [14:05] <Dossy> hi, cacrus :)
IRC [17:37] *** partymola joined the chat.
IRC [17:39] *** partymola parted the chat.
IRC [17:49] *** partymola joined the chat.
IRC [17:49] * partymola hides from Dossy. partymola has read Dossy's despressing post ;P
IRC [18:07] <Dossy> lol. btw, think I might have solved the "nsd segfaults with 64-builds on Linux" problem
IRC [18:28] <partymola> oh!
IRC [18:29] <partymola> how :O
IRC [18:33] <Dossy> clean copy of AOLserver source, the only change you need to do is edit include/ns.mak:
IRC [18:33] <Dossy> change: LDLIB = ${CC} -shared ${CFLAGS} ${LDFLAGS}
IRC [18:34] <Dossy> to: LDLIB = ${CC} -nostartfiles -shared ${CFLAGS} ${LDFLAGS}
IRC [18:44] <partymola> what's up with the nostartfiles?
IRC [18:44] <partymola> it seems it's something required by the new gcc's ?
IRC [18:57] <Dossy> it's just the init symbol issue
IRC [18:57] <Dossy> for our dl magic
IRC [19:00] <Dossy> did my email on the AOLSERVER mailing list come through to you yet?
IRC [19:00] <Dossy> and/or did you try the LDLIB change? you have a 64-bit Linux box, right?
IRC [19:07] <partymola> we've a FreeBSD 64-bit box
IRC [19:07] <partymola> but we've the OS running as 32 bits
IRC [19:08] <partymola> with all libs 32 bits
IRC [19:08] <partymola> so this change doesn't affect us
IRC [19:09] <Dossy> oh.
IRC [19:35] *** holycow joined the chat.
IRC [20:02] <Dossy> quick write-up about 64-bit AOLserver on Linux: http://dossy.org/archives/000517.html
IRC [20:02] <Dossy> I love the quick apachebench of the 4K static file -- woot
IRC [20:06] <partymola> 15k+ LOL!
IRC [20:07] <partymola> beat that, Apache! LOL!
IRC [20:16] *** salvator2 joined the chat.
IRC [20:17] <salvator2> Anybody know how to view your buddy list on aim? I am new to ubuntu
IRC [20:17] *** salvator2 parted the chat.
IRC [20:40] *** partymola parted the chat.
IRC [20:41] *** partymola joined the chat.
IRC [20:56] *** holycow parted the chat.
IRC [20:59] *** holycow joined the chat.
IRC [21:46] <Dossy> heh, I should ask John to install Apache2 on that box and try the same test
IRC [21:46] <Dossy> Apache might actually do even better than AOLserver on that hardware--who knows
IRC [23:13] *** holycow parted the chat.
