IRC [01:07] <lewellyn> hi. is there a win32 build of aolserver? i'd check the wiki, but it's down
IRC [01:13] <cacrus> lewellyn: yes it hink there is
IRC [01:14] <lewellyn> hm. i couldn't find it :P
IRC [01:14] <lewellyn> and i assume that aolserver supports ipv6 :)
IRC [01:15] <lewellyn> it's been a decade since i've looked at it seriously :P
IRC [01:16] <cacrus> lewellyn: i wouldn't assume that :)
IRC [01:17] <lewellyn> hm. if it doesn't do ipv6, it's not helpful to me :P
IRC [01:17] <fcr> lewellyn: It does not yet :(
IRC [01:18] <lewellyn> mmk. i'll continue on my quest for a win32 server that isn't iis/apache and doesn't rely upon cygwin and does ipv6 and cgi.
IRC [01:18] <lewellyn> cacrus, fcr: thanks :)
IRC [01:19] <lewellyn> (btw, the host doesn't have a publicly-routable ipv4 address, so yes, ipv6 is a hard requirement)
IRC [01:19] <fcr> lewellyn: it's easy to use ipv6 in aolserver, if you use a proxy
IRC [01:20] <lewellyn> too much overhead. i tried that with a different web server already :P
IRC [01:21] <lewellyn> the proxy was heavier than the webserver :P
IRC [01:26] <fcr> lewellyn: what I wouldn't recomend you is using Microsoft Windows in a server, but that's just my recomendation, as I don't trust in any software that I can't audit its source code
IRC [01:27] <lewellyn> it's not a server, exactly. it's my laptop, which i would like to keep a few cgi scripts handy on when it's connected to the network :P
IRC [01:27] <fcr> ok
IRC [01:28] <lewellyn> and, quite honestly, apache is way overkill for cgi :P
IRC [01:28] <fcr> you should try lighttpd, it does supports ipv6, but not adp
IRC [01:28] <lewellyn> the lighthttpd binaries i've found are compiled against cygwin
IRC [01:28] <lewellyn> and cygwin gets very displeased with my CGIs
IRC [01:28] <fcr> cygwin is not that bad as it sounds :)
IRC [01:29] <lewellyn> i'm using stuff compiled with uwin. mixing posix environments is never good ;)
IRC [01:30] <fcr> maybe it's possible to compile one of the free web servers with mingw32
IRC [01:31] <lewellyn> that's my next step if roxen doesn't cooperate :P
IRC [01:31] <lewellyn> and roxen's overkill for cgi, too :(
