DIY Transciever
New name
I have an [SWL+40|http://smallwonderlabs.com/swl_swp.htm] on the way, and I am super-excited. Links that should come in handy: * [Amazing Guide|http://qsl.net/kf4trd/lessons.htm] and [Elmer101|http://epic.mcmaster.ca/~elmer101/] - Pages like these are the very heartbeat of what makes me love amateur radio. * [Reviews|http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/187] * [Enhancements|http://mysite.verizon.net/tcminyard/SW40_work.html] - Full 5W, Full 40m/CW range, Freq display (I think I want audio morse output), and RIT. Goals: * I want to understand as much of it as possible (for debugging, education, and expansion). It's OK if it's big and complicated as long as the design is componentized and well-explained. * CW Only (for now) * Monoband is fine (for now) * N6QE post (on [eHam.net|http://www.eham.net/articles/23116]) ups direct conversion and downs AGC. I like it. Honorable mention: * This [Norcal SMK-1|http://www.cromwell-intl.com/radio/hfqrp.html] really nails it. I like the built-in keyer addition, too. * The [KK7B Binaural I-Q Receiver|http://www.kangaus.com/Documentation%20files/BIQR/biqr.pdf] looks fascinating (great use of stereo sound). * Also by KK7B: [http://www.kangaus.com/microt2.htm] * Popcorn Direct-Conversion Receiver [page|http://www.qrp.pops.net/popDC.asp], [short demo video|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Gt15_w7Ds]
