IRC [14:44] <shemale_nurse> hi
IRC [14:44] <shemale_nurse> anyone semi alive?
IRC [14:44] <shemale_nurse> or undead?
IRC [14:53] <Dossy> What's up.
IRC [14:56] <partymola> nurse ftw!
IRC [14:59] <shemale_nurse> ?
IRC [14:59] <shemale_nurse> well
IRC [14:59] <shemale_nurse> I have and adp page.
IRC [15:00] <shemale_nurse> and I am trying to make it give me the results of various finds on the linux filesystem.
IRC [15:00] <shemale_nurse> but I am using exec and someone said it is dangerous and memory hog, so I am wondering how real aolserver users do it
IRC [15:01] <partymola> maybe Dossy knows...
IRC [15:01] <shemale_nurse> I am also on another aside unable to get find and a grep to work together to prune down some of my finds from within the tcl set lines of my adp page
IRC [15:01] <Dossy> you could look at nsproxy to do the Tcl exec in.
IRC [15:02] <shemale_nurse> tcl doesnt seem to like set gavin [exec find /home gavin -type f|grep -i pdf]
IRC [15:02] <Dossy> yeah.
IRC [15:02] <partymola> shemale_nurse: put the command between quotes " "
IRC [15:02] <Dossy> uh...
IRC [15:02] <shemale_nurse> is there another way to run shell utilities and grab output from them than exec?
IRC [15:02] <Dossy> set gavin [glob /home/*.pdf]
IRC [15:02] <shemale_nurse> I think I tried that
IRC [15:02] <Dossy> or do you really want it to be fully recursive?
IRC [15:03] <shemale_nurse> it has to check the subdirectories yes
IRC [15:04] <partymola> http://www.shemale_nurse.justgotowned.com/ <- LOL
IRC [15:04] <shemale_nurse> I also want to use find because then I can look for files of size 0, which are a pain here at work, because transfers from windows boxes place a file name but fail and leave a file size 0k on the file system
IRC [15:04] *** holycow joined the chat.
IRC [15:12] <Dossy> well, you could write it in pure Tcl, using [glob]
IRC [15:26] <partymola> shemale_nurse: sure what you need is already implemented as a function somewhere :)
IRC [15:31] <shemale_nurse> wow I was pooned
IRC [15:32] <shemale_nurse> oh ? killer
IRC [15:32] <shemale_nurse> lets see glob page must be around www.tcl.tk somewheres
IRC [15:36] <shemale_nurse> hmmm
IRC [15:39] <shemale_nurse> ah yes recursive version would help Dossy
IRC [15:39] <shemale_nurse> or anyone?
IRC [15:40] <shemale_nurse> oow wait can I use a wildcard in the dir statement?
