IRC [07:05] *** partymola joined the chat.
IRC [07:05] <partymola> hi! :)
IRC [07:41] <Dossy> so, what are you selling?
IRC [08:08] <partymola> www.simpleoption.com
IRC [08:08] <partymola> several long-tail items
IRC [08:09] <partymola> we're trying to position ourselves in the spanish market
IRC [08:09] <partymola> we added some products to see the reaction of web crawlers, and to see which positions we could get
IRC [08:09] <partymola> and the awesome result is that we're getting the 1st positions easily, and that we've even got a customer, given that ordering system simply sucks
IRC [08:10] <partymola> cuz we've no shopping cart nor everything else, but a e-mail address or a telephone number for orders lol
IRC [08:14] <partymola> thinks are going quite better than expected
IRC [08:15] <partymola> we're moving to a new house next month, and we'll live & work there all together... with dedicated Internet line & such... so I think it all's gonna go perfect... thanks in part to AOLserver ;)
IRC [08:17] <Dossy> awesome!
IRC [08:18] <Dossy> The site looks nice.
IRC [08:19] <Dossy> Who's the designer?
IRC [08:20] <Dossy> Search isn't working yet?
IRC [09:22] <partymola> nope, search's not working yet
IRC [09:22] <partymola> it's 1.0 version
IRC [09:22] <partymola> we're working on 1.5 branch atm
IRC [09:22] <partymola> it was some big style changes
IRC [09:22] <partymola> uses a new templating system, etc.
IRC [09:22] <partymola> (and it looks nice on my palm lol)
IRC [09:23] <partymola> well, one of us has been focusing on design
IRC [09:23] <partymola> she's become quite good on it -considering that we have not big needs actually
IRC [09:28] <Dossy> well, that's great :) when you're ready to launch, let me know :)
IRC [09:30] <partymola> we'll build up from this
IRC [09:31] <Dossy> definitely looks like a great start
IRC [09:31] <partymola> so... can we consider we've launched already? lol
IRC [09:31] <partymola> now we're working on ordering system, expanding products (to several hundredes), and marketing
IRC [09:42] <partymola> geez, the are lots of things to do, and very few time for each one, it's like slicing ur time into 5 times more slices than usual
IRC [09:50] <Dossy> :)
IRC [09:51] <Dossy> well, I'll be happy to blog about simpleoption.com once you're ready to take orders :)
IRC [09:51] <partymola> :O
IRC [09:51] <Dossy> are you doing your own fulfillment?
IRC [09:51] <partymola> no, we plan to write about it soon
IRC [09:51] <partymola> together with some economic notes
IRC [09:51] <Dossy> cool
IRC [09:51] <partymola> you know... nodie is studying business administration atm
IRC [09:51] <partymola> so he can give economic notes
IRC [09:51] <Dossy> that's great :)
IRC [09:52] <partymola> atm we're working on a tcl/tk program that gets visits from the DB and paints a graph of how pages were retrieved
IRC [09:56] <Dossy> nice
IRC [10:02] <partymola> http://aycu33.webshots.com/image/17912/2000816329084076061_rs.jpg
IRC [10:02] <partymola> dirty prototype... but it works lol
IRC [10:07] <Dossy> that's neat
IRC [10:07] <Dossy> you should use Tile so you get better looking widgets :)
IRC [10:07] <partymola> you know we're rude men & women
IRC [10:07] <partymola> we like sharp edges
IRC [10:08] <Dossy> haha
IRC [10:08] <Dossy> :)

IRC [10:41] <Dossy> new job? where are you now?
IRC [10:54] *** holycow joined the chat.
IRC [11:07] <partymola> hi again
IRC [11:53] <ian__> nstelemetry.adp crashes my server with signal 11 the first time I access it. Anyone else seen this? I know it's just a symptom of another prob...
IRC [12:03] <Dossy> what version?
IRC [12:12] *** _justQ joined the chat.
IRC [12:13] <Dossy> Ian: What version of AOLserver?
IRC [12:36] <ian__> 4.5
IRC [12:49] <Dossy> Hmm--from CVS?
IRC [12:52] <ian__> Nope. tarball
IRC [13:00] <Dossy> yeah, there were some late bugs fixed in CVS HEAD --
IRC [13:00] <Dossy> try that first
IRC [13:01] <Dossy> (yes, I know--I still haven't gotten 4.0.11 and 4.5.1 released--ugh)
IRC [13:22] <frankie> Dossy: any reason to have 4.0 still around?
IRC [13:31] <Dossy> frankie: Until we get some decent documentation around the new ns_pools and ns_limits stuff in 4.5, probably.
IRC [13:49] <ian__> +1
IRC [13:51] <Dossy> :)
IRC [13:51] <Dossy> so, Ian, are you still doing AOLserver at your new gig?
IRC [14:33] *** hagna joined the chat.
IRC [14:34] <hagna> what's the tag to strip out bad things like paros%22+style%3D%22background%3Aurl%28javascript%3Aalert%28%27Paros%27%29%29 from variable ns_striphtml doesn't do it
IRC [14:34] <hagna> s/tag/proc/

IRC [14:40] <_justQ> Hi guys, I'm trying to compile nsjava for Aolserver 4.1.0 but I'm getting some compilation errors
IRC [14:40] <_justQ> have you ever used nsjava ?
IRC [15:00] <Dossy> hagna: depends on what you're trying to sanitize--you'll probably have to write it yourself, one or a few regexp's
IRC [15:00] <Dossy> justQ: nsjava? no.
IRC [15:00] <Dossy> what compilation errors are you getting?
IRC [15:03] <_justQ> I got a lot of these ones:

IRC [15:38] <_justQ> I will try to use JDK 1.2 instead
IRC [16:09] *** ian__ parted the chat.
IRC [17:14] *** hagna parted the chat.
IRC [18:43] <Dossy> justQ: I believe nsjava is intended for AOLserver 3.x ... the functions in AOLserver 4.x changed slightly.
IRC [18:43] <Dossy> What do you want to do with nsjava? Perhaps if someone seriously intends on using it, I'll take the time to update it.
IRC [19:21] <_justQ> well, I was just trying to play a bit with java applications such as Jfreechart
IRC [19:22] <_justQ> and I read in oacs forums that it worked very well
IRC [19:22] <_justQ> but they had a hard time compiling everything
IRC [19:24] <Dossy> ahh.
IRC [19:31] <_justQ> there are some package that have java applets using aolserver sockets and other stuff that I've just found but I'll take a look tomorrow and let you know what will be the end of my story =)
IRC [19:31] <_justQ> thanks a lot for your help Dossy =), you are a legend ;)..
