IRC [10:04] <Dossy> partymola, you awake? your nsd crash again, yet?
IRC [10:05] <partymola> let me see
IRC [10:05] <partymola> and hi Dossy :)
IRC [10:05] <partymola> good morning there
IRC [10:05] <partymola> no, it has not crashed yet :S
IRC [10:06] <frankie> Heisenbug?
IRC [10:07] <frankie> :)
IRC [10:07] <Dossy> no--no stacksize set
IRC [10:07] <Dossy> core dump showed mem corruption--my hunch, stack got stomped
IRC [10:07] <Dossy> reconfigured with an explicit 512K per-thread stack. hopefully, that should fix the problem :)
IRC [10:08] <partymola> frankie: do you know what's the default size value for stack if not defined in the config file?
IRC [10:08] <frankie> isn't that compiler-specific?
IRC [10:09] <partymola> if it were compiler specific, i don't think it could be changed in runtime, as it can be done
IRC [10:10] <frankie> ah pthread_attr_setstack()
IRC [10:10] <frankie> i missed the 'per thread' specification
IRC [10:11] <Dossy> hey, there's partymola.
IRC [10:11] <Dossy> any new coredumps? :)
IRC [10:12] *** cacrus parted the chat.
IRC [10:14] <frankie> partymola: PTHREAD_STACK_MIN maybe that it is 16K here
IRC [10:16] <partymola> nada, no new coredumps
IRC [10:18] <partymola> and... PTHREAD_STACK_MIN = MINSIGSTKSZ in FreeBSD... that is 2K, i think
IRC [10:19] <partymola> so it may be the source of problems :S
IRC [10:22] <frankie> well 2K is really low
IRC [10:23] <frankie> Dossy: isn't that the case to have a higher default for safety?
IRC [10:23] <partymola> i agree, you should set a higher value by default
IRC [10:27] <Dossy> "safety"? possibly.
IRC [10:30] <Dossy> guh.
IRC [10:31] <partymola> do that thinking in dummies like me X'D
