IRC [07:51] *** _justq joined the chat.
IRC [08:06] <_justq> Hi
IRC [08:08] <_justq> I was trying to compile nscache in windows environment
IRC [08:08] <_justq> with nmake install
IRC [08:08] <_justq> for Aolserver 4.5
IRC [08:09] <_justq> and got an error :
IRC [08:09] <_justq> makefile(4) : fatal error U1034: syntax error: separator missing
IRC [08:09] <_justq> Stop.
IRC [08:10] <_justq> Do you know how to fix this ? =)
IRC [08:22] <_justq> or any idea how to build the modules of aol for win?
IRC [09:13] <_justq> ok, I found some documentation saying there are some nmake versions of this modules around but they were never checked in the repository
IRC [09:13] <_justq> =(
IRC [09:52] <Dossy> use cygwin and GNU make on win32
IRC [09:52] <Dossy> or at least, try that :)
IRC [09:52] <Dossy> or if not cygwin, MinGW/MSYS.
IRC [09:52] <Dossy> eventually I'll commit my changes to build AOLserver using MinGW/MSYS natively on Win32.
IRC [09:57] <_justq> thanks =), I'll try with cygwin
IRC [09:57] <_justq> by the way, have you tried to compile with this tcl extension called smake ?
IRC [10:02] *** _justq parted the chat.
IRC [10:03] *** _justQ joined the chat.
IRC [10:06] <Dossy> no, I haven't used smake.
IRC [10:07] <_justQ> ok, Thanks Dossy :-)
IRC [11:52] *** CIA-24 parted the chat.
IRC [12:02] <_justQ> Dossy: how difficult would be to modify your build.tcl script that you wrote and tweak it to compile extra aolserver modules ? just asking :)
IRC [12:05] *** CIA-24 joined the chat.
IRC [12:46] *** holycow joined the chat.
IRC [13:07] <Dossy> no idea--I abandoned that thing--not worth the effort
IRC [13:07] <Dossy> really, I need to just check in my MinGW changes.
IRC [13:09] <_justQ> ok
IRC [13:33] *** _justQ parted the chat.
IRC [15:06] *** partymola joined the chat.
IRC [15:06] <partymola> Dossy: gobby! :O
IRC [15:06] <partymola> there's a pluging to use it with emacs...
IRC [15:06] <partymola> ... so sexy
IRC [15:06] <partymola> I used it like 1 year ago (or more)
IRC [15:06] <partymola> and it works pretty fine
IRC [15:07] <partymola> same as I used Squeak... and well... it's cool to use... but not very useful in the 99.999% of day-to-day situations
IRC [15:07] <partymola> so I've not used it anymore :)
IRC [15:34] <Dossy> gobby with emacs? scary :)
IRC [15:34] <Dossy> gobby with vi would be nice, though :-P
IRC [15:34] <Dossy> yeah, I wanna play with gobby, see how useful it really is
