If you log in to AKO on Chrome under Linux, you might have trouble getting to webmail, even if you are know about [Getting DOD Root Certificates working with Google Chrome under Linux]. When you click on the "Mail" link, it will bring up a redirection page that just sits there doing nothing visible. If you then click on that link, it will pop up the webmail pop-up window which will, you guessed it, sit there doing nothing (though it at least gives you the hint, "Waiting on cache"). I have not delved into the internals of Google Chrome, but I think it has something to do with the way Chrome handles SSL errors, and it is waiting on the user to confirm a security exception even though the user cannot see the confirmation screen. Regardless, I have found a very simple workaround that makes it work just fine. Create a bookmark directly to the webmail page: * https://webmail.us.army.mil/ After you log in, you can just click that link and (successfully) go to the webmail view. That bookmark is especially quick as the 4th link in the chain in [Logging in to AKO]. ! Webmail v2 Sometimes the new webmail interface works for me, sometimes it doesn't. It often gets stuck on: * "10% Convergence Libraries"* "20% User Preferences"* "15% User Preferences" * "20% User Theme" * "40% Instant Messaging" (even when I choose "Webmail Lite") Answer: Reload, Reload, Reload. <-- This usually works. One trick that sometimes kicks it into gear is to right click on something, do "Inspect Element", go to the "Resources" tab, then click the "Enable resource tracking" button (but not "Always enable"). It will reload the page and sometimes it mysteriously works better that way.
