Glued Words

Difference between revisions from 2010/09/27 22:06 and 2010/09/27 22:06.
Some words seem stuck to each other. Observe:
* Plying --> trade (plying has 15M Google hits, "plying trade" has 3.8K)
* Plying --> trade ("plying" has 15M Google hits, "plying trade" has 3.8K)
* Copious --> free time ("copious" has 28M Google hits, "copious free time" has 16K)

The pattern here is semi-rare words that are (I propose) oddly connected to a specific second word/phrase. They are a form of [cliché|http://www.westegg.com/cliche/], and the predictability of the second half irritates me in a way.

I plan on redoing this mechanically (Markov Chaining) after I build a manual list.
