My first key is a whittled block of wood with a couple of wires and a piece of metal with a spring underneath. Very "expedient," but it might just work.
I tried using the method of making a code practice oscillator by attaching a Multimeter in Continuity-beep mode. I saw a few problems:
- Keybounce - but maybe my xcvr's "Key" feature will take care of this. If not, I guess it's time for an inductor.
- Unstable connection - Possibly just the multimeter's connection.
The connection is made with two globs of solder. Perhaps brass or some softer metal is a better choice to get a better connection?
